Hi Don, Being a "Newbie" myself I will endeavor to assist you. I noticed on the last few lines, "No Driver Detected" it seems to me that XFree86 was trying to load a driver for the X server and could not find one.  (EE) No devices detected. Fatal server error: no screens found It seems to me that you may not have the appropriate X server and driver combination. Mind you this is only I guess. I am dealing with my own XFree86 problem too. It seems I have to upgrade to XFree86 4.1.0 in order to utilize a driver written for my on board video. This has been a one - two week effort in futility for me.
