Dear Arno,
I installed
XFree4.1.0 on a Dell Inspiron 8100 with an nVIDIA2 Go and RH7.0 two weeks ago,
and it worked. I have no idea what FreeBSD is, sorry; but according to the
documentation on the nVIDIA site, glx MUST be loaded, the driver must be
'nvidia' not 'nv', and dri and GLcore must NOT be loaded. It worked great
for me, using the binaries from the nVIDIA site. Also, I don't know if
it's an error on their web pages or not, but the "main" Linux nVIDIA driver page
omits the GeForce2 Go; so I used the archived driver http://www.nvidia.com/view.asp?IO=linux_v1.0-1251 'cause it was specifically called out as wroking for the nVIDIA2
Go.
I hope this helps.
Sincerely, Michelle
