I assume you have a RH 7.x installation...
The server you mention is a 3.3.6 server, the driver is a 4.x.x driver it seems to me 
something
must be amiss. check which version you are running with X -version if you are running 
3.3.6 then
redirect /etc/X11/X (it's a symlink) to /usr/X11R6/bin/XFree86 and if you still have 
problem hack
the /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 (it's the one used by 4.x.x) I suspect the r128 driver 
should be OK
