ROFL

Bought that card (Radeon 64meg VIVO) in April 2001 - I expected it not to run
right away in Linux for it was pretty new and ATI has been causing trouble
ever since for those guys aint capable of coding proper drivers as well as
they refuse to hand out the chip specs so somebody else could. Only bought
that board for a) price, b) 3dfx doesn't exist anymore (sniff) and c) I hate
NV for their intel/M$-like price policy.
I've been jumping around in the web/news/magazines/whatsover and couldn't get
that damn thing to work in X until I dloaded the 4.1.99 CVS snapshot which
finally did the trick.
Damn I even can't make the VideoIn work the way it's meant to do in *WINDOWS*!

All ATI tech support could tell me was "Wait for new drivers" - well I did for
!!6!! months, and still it didnt do any good.
I'm through with those ppl.
