Hmm the reason I contributed that was because you get a new X executable I
think if you compile the drivers. Hopefully that will have less bugs or
whatever is causing your memory leaks..... Have X 4.1.0 up and running here
with nvidia closed source drivers and sometimes it has been running for over
a week. Haven't been paying attention to the memory tho' but nothing gives me
the assumption over here that memory is leaking and my system is slowing
down...

total used free shared buffers cached
Mem: 256264 250612 5652 0 23412 114168
-/+ buffers/cache: 113032 143232
Swap: 498004 35148 462856

143MB free (minus cache/buffers) running X for 2 days. Have Netscape, KDE
mail, shell, Komodo IDE (for PHP/Perl and some other languages,
www.activestate.com pretty memory consuming) and quanta
(quanta.sourceforge.net) open. The latter 2 probably use quite a bit of
memory. Then there are a load of services running in the background like
apache, mysql, sendmail, inetd, cron etc (I use this system for web
development).

I'll keep an eye on my memory. I'm running on only 1 CPU though. Perhaps the
SMP is causing the memory leaks
