I have a Ati Radeon 32sdr. Under Red Hat 7.2 I could only get the server to view in 8bit mode. However in Mandrake 8.1 I was able to choice XFree86 4.1.0 with noaccel (installation in expert mode) and I am able to view the server in 16 or 24bit mode, it looks a lot better, but it means no 3D games such as Tuxracer.
