Hi there, I need some help to solve the subject. A bit more details: I have to use a program, called InsightII (a molecular modelling software), running on an SGI Indigo2 Impact under IRIX 6.5 with 'Solid Impact' graphics. It works fine on console, but I want to use it from a Linux box. This is a Dell Dimension 4300, 1.6GHz P4, with nVidia GEForce2 MX (64MB) video card. The linux is RedHat7.2. I tried to start this program with kernel version 2.4.9-13 or 2.4.7-10 using the original RedHat nv driver and MESA or the NVIDIA drivers for the given kernel, downloaded from nVidia.com (v 1.0-2313). The result is allways the same: The program starts, like normaly, I get the normal introductory messages and an introductory graphic window. Then it stops with an error message: "Couldn't get initial visual in app_init_display" Do somebody have any idea, how can I solve this? Please do not send me to the company who made the software, because we have no maintenance for it. Thank you Ferenc
