I suppose that's mostly snobbery on my part.  These days there's
probably as much difference between, say, Sun Solaris and IBM AIX as
there is between Linux and either of them.  It's just Linux can't trace
a direct heritage back through SysV Rel 3, 4.2BSD, and Version 7.  Not
that there's much common code left anymore.  Right now, Linux seems to
have more "mindshare" than all the Unices put together, and gaining. 
For a nostalgic old guy like me that's a little sad.
