hi all, i'm trying to get a running xf420. my system is slackware8.0 with kernel 2.4.17 and gcc 3.0.3 . 'make World' and 'make install' seem to have no problems.
i have two graphic cards: an ati rage128 agp and an ati mach64 pci but when i start the server i get 'unresolved symbols' errors in the log file (i already set up xinerama on two other machines so i'm sure the config file is ok) so i compiled a new kernel without any drm/dri modules now everything looks better, only 3 drm 'unres symb' errors left ;) very funny: the Rage128 drivers says 'no device section found for blah foo (BUSID:OF:THE:MACH64)...' but the device section is perfect. the server starts anyway and the r128 card is the only one which works. the monitor of the mach64 seems to get a signal (LED indicates) but is still blank. and .. i can't find any r128.o on my system. du to the new kernel there is no r128.o from the kernel sources ... and 'make World' doesn't produce one. i don't understand that. maybe i should switch back to an earlier gcc? any other suggestions? i don't know what to do anymore :( and i need it for my work. leander _______________________________________________ Newbie mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] *** To unsubscribe , or change message options, see: http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/newbie
