After upgrading from Xfree86 Version 3.3.2(?) to XFree86 Version 4.1.0.1 (using Debian package management) under Linux 2.2.19
I can not get a usable display on the ThinkPad LCD monitor, 800x600 resolution. The screen image is torn and flickering, progressively worse from left to right. I have tried without ModeLine, requesting Color Depth 8; and the same, limiting Vert Refresh to 50-74 Hz; also specifying the ModeLine that used to work in the earlier version of XFree86. Result is always the same. Hardware is an IBM ThinkPad 760ED, with a Trident Cyber 9385 aka TGUI9660. This is nicely detected by the server. In all cases I have specified Option "noaccel". From the archives around the time Version 3.3.6 was released, it seems that problems supporting the 760ED LCD monitor began with that release. Any advice toward getting the LCD monitor working would be appreciated. _______________________________________________ Newbie mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] *** To unsubscribe , or change message options, see: http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/newbie
