Hello folks,

I have two questions which I think are offtopic but I respect the help I
get here so please bear with me.

1: I downloaded adventure-2.5-1.i386.rpm from redhat and tried to install
it into RH 7.1. I received a dependency error for a lib, I cant remember
exactly, but I have a later version installed do I did a --nodeps
install. It installed in the blink of an eye into the games dir along
with a couple of other games that installed as part of the 7.1 install.

My problem.... I cannot get it to run at all. Just comes back with the
unknown command error. I checked the permissions, all seem OK, tried
running it as root, tried the full path and ./adventure from the games
dir. The system cant find it.

Any clues anybody. I have obviously done something very basic wrong.

Number 2 is: Every now and again pppd will not start, says starting pppd
but it just hangs and you can't kill it, when using the kppp front end.
If I reboot it always works OK. All the files appear OK to my very
inexpeienced eye.

Any idea what I may be doing wrong?

TIA,

Graeme.
