Hi,
I want to use X with some resolutions from 640x480 up to 1024x768
pixels. The virtual desktop size matches resolution in 1024x768.
But when I use Crtl-Alt-"+" or" -" to shift between resolutions, the
virtual desktop is still 1024x768. I dont wanna use the virtual Desktop
in other resolutions when I shift to other modes. How can I disable
virtual resolution with the option of shift resolutions?
Besides, I cannot see any messages like
"whether or not you want a screen that is larger than your actual
desktop."
under xf86config. And if I fixe the Virtual desktop size to 640x480 in
/etc/X11/XF86Config-4, the higher resolutions modes are missed. Is there
any way in XFree86 to make the virtual desktop to fit resolutions?
I would apprecate for any feedback/help.

Thank you.

Tyrone

P.S. My version of XFree86 is XFree86-4.1.0-3
My Linux Version is Redhat 7.2
