Gentlemen,
I followed all the instructions in BUILD and INSTALL.TXT
to build XFree86-3.3.6 fresh from SOURCES on i386 (586)
computer running Debian Linux 2.2r2, kernel 2.2.18,
libc6 2.1.13:
make World >& world.log
make install
When rebooting the system, for my surprise, XFS X Font server
seems to be broken. I got the message:
XFS X Font Server unknown parameter no-listen
Okay, I copied the config file from sources to /etc/X11/xfs/
and during a reboot the system gets stuck at "Starting XFS..."
Nothing happens then, system does not respond.
Only way to get back to the system was to boot runlevel 1:
LILO: linux 1
I checked everything and I can not see the solution.
Would anyone please help with this issue ?
