Lo all,
I am having trouble installing XFree86 with Fink - or without it,
for the matte, through regular compilation. When installing through
Fink, his says "package size to download: 41mb. Size of install: 0mb" or
something along those lines.
However, despite the "0mb" line, XFree (both base, as well as the
convenience pack, on different occasions) installs. I check my /etc
folder, and see it there, and i check my /usr folder, and find it there.
However, when i type startx, i get a "command not found." Once, after
another install with fink, i got some complaint from the xinit, but only
once.
So basically, i am xless now, and therefore hurting. As anyone else
had this problem? Can anyone offer any advice?
