Ok, figured out how to start with a simple "startx" comman.
In the login panel of your comuter, click on the "other" button - the one you use to log in as root under MacOS. However, in the user box, type >console and login.
this turns off the graphics mode, and you boot right into Darwin. From there, you can use the "startx" command, as listed in the docs.
Questions, tho:
2 issues plague me, and are the "bane of my existence"
1) Despite speficying my home folder though :. in my path file, and even specifying my scripting folder (/Users/thoughts/scripts), *and* making sure that all files and folders have execution privs set, i can't run me scripts the easy way - i have to do it the old fashion "sh scriptname" way. Any advice?
2) Despite making sure the Xfree86 manual directory has been added to me MANPATH list, and seeing that it is in fact there when i type echo $MANPATH, none of the xfree manuals will run. Help?
Thanks,
