Theoretically you should get acceleration...
try
DefaultDepth 16
in your screen section and
Depth 16
in your display subsection
I don't know whether this will help in your case, but some drivers only accelerate 16
or 32 depth
(don't ask me why...)

PS it is considered bad style to send html formated mail, it eats up a lot of
bandwidth and people
with normal modems are penalised (don't be surprised if you get some more sanguine
protests from
some other list participants, just go over your mail settings for the next post...)
