I'm trying to run X on a Debian Linux box. I ran through the configuration
and answered all the questions as best I could. I have a Matrox
Millenium II graphics card with 8K or display RAM and a Hitachi
monitor.
When I attempt to run startx the following errors occur:
X: exec of /usr/bin/X11/XF86_SVGA failed
_X11TransSocketUNIXConnect: Can't connect: errno = 111
giving up. xinit: Connection refused (errno 111): unable to connect to X
server xinit: No such process (errno 3): Server error.
Any ideas on how I go about debugging my install. When I reboot my machine,
the xdm is running
but my system console still is in text mode.
