strangely , I having the same problem .
I using ATI 3D rage bulit on the motherboard .
It seem to confilt with something else , during installation the gaphic
interface seem to be o.k and working with mouse .
After the first reboot , the mouse refuse to work. I will be installing
slackware to check if the problem still exist .
well , seem to me it a software BUG .
