Platform: Digital PC 5000 (Intel PII), Diamond Fire GL 1000 Pro video
card (TI Permedia chipset), debian testing, XFree86 4.1.0
(this, and all other packages mentioned, installed by
apt-get from debian testing), Monitor DEC PCXAV-YZ

After a reboot last night, I got some annoying downwards scrolling
horisontal lines on my XFree86 display.

They show up as white lines to the right of white, or greyscale
windows. And they show up as dark lines to the right of the left edge
of white and greyscale windows.

Eg. if I just have an empty icewm display, the image is still, but if
I open XEmacs, I see these lines to the right of the XEmacs window.

Does anyone know this phenomena? Is it likely that it is a problem
with my monitor? Is it something that can be adjusted in the
monitor's setup? Or is it a problem with XFree86? I didn't change
anything in my XFree86 setup from not having the problem, to having
it.
