I'm having some problems getting XFree86 4.2.0 that comes with RH7.3 (on i386) to start. My video card is a Diamond Stealth 64 PCI, which has an S3 Vision 964 with a bt485 ramdac, ICD2061A clockchip and 2048 RAM.
When I try to start it I get a RAMDAC probe failure message, I've tried putting in Ramdac "bt485" into the XF86Config-4, also Clockchip "icd2061a" and options such as diamond and s3_964_bt485_vclk but had no joy, still the same error message. I went removed 4.2.0 and went back to using 4.1.0 (with Mesa) and everything seems to work fine. Does anyone have any answers to what is going on and how to fix it?
