Setup: FreeBSD 4.6R, XFree86 4.2.0, 15" Daytek monitor, 8MB RIVA TNT2 Vid, newer Logitech two button wheel mouse (wheel is a button, sort of).
Configuration: Initially tried to setup via the GUI Config for XFree, but kept on locking up when I tried to select a different mouse (ones that were associated with Logitech) and was not loading the screen resolution/refresh rates correctly for the monitor. So I moved onto the script based config, which was much slicker. Typed in the Logitech Mouse, (and tried a few others), selected the keyboard as a Keytronics something (I am away from the machine right now, so I do remember exact name), but I could not see the rest of the list of keyboards from approx 6- to 1. Typed in my monitor settings (via http://www.si87.com/MonitorSolutions/daytek/dt1531.html), Video card (no probs there, I know it is a TNT2), etc. #startx Loads up, but I only see a quarter of the screen, and moving the mouse around does not really affect the position of the screen. I recall saying NO to XFree allowing me to use a larger resolution and just have the mouse affect the screen position. How can I confirm this is disabled? How do I specify when startx is executed to run at a certain resolution or colour depth. I did not see exactly what I was looking for in the man page for this type of specification. Thank you for our time and assistance! ...D _______________________________________________ Newbie mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] *** To unsubscribe , or change message options, see: http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/newbie
