Greetings good people. I have the following system: ASUS A7A266 motherboard; AMD XP1700 processor; 256M ram; 60G Maxtor hd; Crystal soundcard; Linksys NIC.
I am running RH7.3. When I install the ATI AIW7500 card, X is VERY unstable - lots of hangs, crashes, and all that icky stuff. The same system runs fine when I put my old Voodoo 3 card in. I have read the info on ATI stuff on the gatos project website, but to tell the truth I don't really understand it very well. I'm afraid to try installing the drivers from that site because I'm not sure I understand the sketchy instructions. (Duh....:-P) Has anyone got an AIW Radeon 7500 running well on RH7.3 or some other linux distro?
