like a lot of other people here, i'm trying to
get X to work on my laptop. in my case, i've
got a compaq presario 1600 xl. i installed
RH 5 (old, i know) from a CD. i went thru the
xf86config process, but i don't know the answers
to some of the questions it asked. in the end,
when i tried to run X, i got error messages
saying :
``...

so my first question is, "what do i need to do to correct this"?

second, is there any web site that has the kind of detailed
chip info that i apparently need (for the presario 1600 xl),
to get linux working ?

thanks in advance.
