Hmmmm....Guess I need to be a little more specific:

I am using an older machine as a ibm 5250 terminal using xt5250 (an
emulator that runs under X). The machine boots from a floppy and then in
turn runs bootp to get net info and then NFS mounts a remote dir and
then downloads an OS image from the server. Then startx is called and
simply uses the raw X server to run the xt5250 emulator. (all this
amounts to turning a 486 into a cheap IBM5250 terminal). I would like
the user to be able to run a shell command by using a key
combination...NOT by launching a pseudo-terminal and typing it into the
command line. It would be great if I could simply have X trap the key
combo and then issue the appropriate command.

Any Help?

Thanks
Mike
