Hi,
No idea what is causing this:
when I start X (using startx) everything is ok, then I switch to a virtual
console using Ctrl+Alt+Fn and do some stuff there, still everything ok. But
then I want to go back to X so I press Alt+F4 and my screen becomes black...
switching resolution with Ctrl+Alt+[+-] gives my display back...
this is with XFree86 4.2.1, compiled with gcc 3.2
