I tried it just now, no luck... it is also not some screensaver mode or
somthing like that since it is completely responsive towards the keyboard
only without anything visible until the Ctrl+Alt+[+-] keycombo is used.
btw. this is on linux 2.5.53, but my other system (the same tools/kernel,
other hardware) does not have this problem.
