Unless you /really/ need the security and encryption features provided by NTFS, your best bet is to store all your mp3 files and other data you plan to share in Linux on a FAT32 partition. Win2K comes with NTFS version 4, and differs from the compatablility programmed for WinNT 4.0 provided by the linux NTFS module. Any data you write from within Linux to an NTFS partition /can/ be read from both systems. However, you should only write to it from within Linux as Win2K assigns a security descriptor different from the attribute system used in Linux dependent on the certificate defined by the Win2K sercurity subsystem for the Active Directory catalog. Et. al., writing data from Win2K -> NTFS parition to be read from Linux = Bork!
