The ebase file is ebase.102 NOT ebase_.102. Whatever said the latter is just
plain wrong.

Try opening Filemaker just by itself. Then click on the open icon and
navigate to where the ebase.102 file and all its friends are. Click on
ebase.102 and open it. You should be in business at that point. If not you
have severe problems.

If you want to reassociate .102s with FileMaker 5, you can right click on
the ebase.102 file and select Open With (not Open). In the dialog box that
comes up select FileMaker and check the box in the lower left that says
something like always use this program.
