I don't see any list at the bottom right on the geo.topf.org site. I tried to download the local-osm-slippy-map.tar.gz file and run it and I don't even see a map when using that, let alone anything in the bottom right textarea. In IE, I see a bunch of "Sorry! No data available for this zoom level". I guess that's what you meant by "if this failes no need to unpack the files".
I also tried BSGPS, as well. I click on the OSM tab, and, in the Download Multpiple Tiles section, I enter the following: Max Lat: 30.3 Min Lat: 30.2 Max Lon:-91.6 Min Lon:-91.7 I use a zoom of 20 and hit the Download button. A bunch of directories are then created in the maps directory, but they're all empty. I download the *.chm help file and follow the directions in BSGPS -> Getting Started ... I start BSGPS, plug my GPS Device (an AT&T Tilt) in and select Options -> GPS Receiver. This results in an error saying "No GPS Device found". Maybe BSGPS only recognizes dedicated GPS devices and not ones that are built into cell phones. And, in any event, even if it did recognize the device, I'm not sure what good that'd do me. The computer I'm plugging my GPS Device into doesn't have a clear line of site to the sky nor does my GPS Device... Anyway, I haven't a clue how to proceed. I've asked if there's anything I can do with regard to BSGPS on their forums, but if there isn't... does anyone have any other ideas?
