It does sound like you've put the wrong details into the app. You should use the email address and password you used for the (main) www.openstreetmap.org website, they're BOTH case sensitive. The error-message justed started to make me to think about account-information. I had empty boxes only, and no check for the API 0.6 BUT ..... Now I see maps. Of my own town, my own street, my cycle tour. And a lot of blue [i] signs. What are those?
