Yahoo, landsat, or SRTM should have imagery for your area. Check the wiki page for India and/or your district to see if there are any better sources. > Do we need to scan the maps printed with the points marked? Scanning the walking papers isn't strictly necessary, but having them open in JOSM makes it easier to tell what track belongs to what map feature. > I went to http://walking-papers.org But since this is a campus, I dont find > any printable data there. What should be wrong? Is there anything in the map right now? Can you provide a permalink? > Im not sure about the plugins for JOSM and new to them. Login to your account from the OSM main screen and click on "GPS Traces" button, then "upload a trace". > I just need to mark the waypoints GPX into the data downloaded from OSM? Yes. You should have a minimum of four layers open in JOSM: 1. Data later 2. Downloaded GPS data 3. Waypoints GPX file 4. Reference imagery (either aerial or walking papers) There are several howto videos on the wiki and youtube on how to edit with JOSM that may be helpful.
