Hi Yes there is! OSM is a 'crowd-sourcing' project.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crowd_sourcing The users of the map are encouraged to contribute to it by adding to the data. http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Beginners%27_Guide A popular way is to collect the routes & POI's using a GPS unit & uploading the data it produces. Alternatively, Walking Papers, where you can print off an area & annotate it with details of your walk. http://walking-papers.org/ I also find a camera & pencil/paper to be invaluable as an aide-mémoire.. Cheers Dave F. >>> There is no detail on the map because there’s no detail on OpenStreetMap >>> which we are using as a base. I don’t think we can do anything about this. _______________________________________________ newbies mailing list [email protected] http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/newbies
