I've got this problem but it didn't occur to me to mention it.

The dates mine shows are random as far as I can see. EasyGPS has no problem
with the gpx file but osm doesn't want to know.

The receiver shows no date/time at all mostly and the gpx contains either
correct or wildly stupid timestamps. And it won't let me save tracks to named
files.

As I don't do anything with the files apart from using the tracks for mapping
all I've been doing is replacing all the dud timestamps with the same up to
date arbitrary value. OSM is then quite happy. A pain but only a small one.
Garmin's reaction so far as I've seen on the net is very far from satisfactory.
sort of micro you know who but even more patronisingly uninterested.

Perhaps next time I'll look at or recommend someone other than Garmin. Are you
listening Garmin?

Adrian.

Surprised I don't see this on either list yet ... forward to any GPS-relevant
lists that don't have it yet.

It is Unclear if it has run off the end of its Y2K fix or has hit
some similar glitch; they say random number of decades off per restart,
which doesn't fit the Y2K paradigm or the Y2K windowing patch either,
so YMMV. Supposedly they're working on a firmware fix.
