+1 I think that this is an important issue and should be addressed. If one of the goals of OSM is to map the world and do so by bringing in more people who know their 'neck of the woods' well, we will want to come up with a better solution.
When someone is enthused about contributing to OSM and they go out and map their local cemetery for people of faith X and it shows up as faith Y, even if that isn't the intention OSM, this person at a minimum will be discouraged, and likely will be offended. We don't want this to happen. David.
