Dear Ishtiaque, Welcome to OpenStreetMap. There are a couple of reasons why your points of interest might not appear. First, it might take longer for the maps to update. Updates on the mapnik layer can be as fast as a few minutes, but sometimes hours or days, depending on server load and zoom level. Secondly, the point of interest that you have added might not appear on all map styles. Points of interest that are interesting to a specific audience will appear on specific map styles. For example, OpenPisteMap.org for alpine ski trails, shows ski lifts and ski trails. OpenCycleMap.org shows bicycle stores and bicycle parking racks. A general purpose map might not show either of those points of interest. Thirdly, some automated map styles deliberately hide some objects in crowded areas to provide a "neater" map. This is a generalization that can leave a particular point of your interest hidden due to local context, while a similar point 200 metres away appears as expected. Last of all, it could be something else. If you would provide a link to the objects of interest, perhaps we can have a look and determine the issue in this case. Best regards, and again, welcome to OpenStreetMap, Richard _______________________________________________ newbies mailing list [email protected] http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/newbies
