Some questions: What desktop are you using, Gnome or KDE? Where did you get the themes. What did you get? Although I really like Bluecurve, I confirmed that theming does work in Gnome, with one hitch. After installing a theme, the dialog is not automatically updated. Close it and open it again, the new theme should be there if it is compatible.
