All,

I just switch my server from SuSE to Debian. It's normally a headless box, but I plugged a monitor into it this morning to find:

eth0: Setting promiscuous mode.
device eth0 entered promiscuous mode
device eth0 left promiscuous mode

Repeated over the entire screen.

I understand that promiscuous mode accepts all packets, and I assume it's not something I want. Much less I do not want the system going in and out of this mode without me knowing. So, how do I turn it off/find out what's going on?

Regards,

Jeremy
