Hi, For a couple of reasons, I do not want to upgrade the
existing RH8.x to RH 9.0,
I would like upgrade to a *fresh* install. I currently have a dual boot machine (RH with XP). I use
GRUB as a boot manager(and
the boot sequence off the bios is CD drive first). I downloaded the RH9.0 disc image from the UUG site, and
burned it to a CD. I rebooted the computer hoping that the installation will
kick in off the CD, but that did not happen. Instead GRUB took power, and I can
not get it to boot off the CD rather than asking me to choose between Linux and
Windows. I am not sure if i needed to do
something to the CD inorder for it to become bootable, I just downloaded the
iso image (shrike-i386-disc1.iso) and burned it to
the CD. And by the way, why is it that you cannot find where to
download RH 9.0 off the redhat.com site? did UUG have to pay that $60 to joing the RH group
in order to get the copies, or was I the only one unable to find where to
download the files off the RH site? |
