hi nathan
Partitioning is very important part of Linux installation. Now i guess that you
want to make your hard drive dual boot....so what you have to do is create atleat 3
partitions to mount viz. the root partition, the swap partition and the "/var"
partition depending on how much space you have.

After you are done with that the installation thereafter is self explainatory and
i hope you wouldn't have much of a problem.

all the best
surya :)

Yeah, I tried booting from the linux mandrake cd's.

It said "Hit Enter to Install Linux Mandrake" or "Hit F1 for more options."
I tried hitting F1 and I read through everything there... it generally talks
about non-graphical installs and other special circumstances. I couldn't
find anything for installing on my windows partition.

I tried hitting "ENTER" also. It started the install process, asking me the
language. I got to about the 3rd step when it tries to decide partitions.
I clicked on the "Advanced" tab and didn't see anything helpful, so I
emailed the uug group.

I'll look over it again... and let you know if I find anything.

Thanks!

PS Do you think it would be in the regular install process or should I hit
"F1" to begin with?
