Several solutions have been given -- just wanted to note that it's 'service
network restart', not 'service network restore.' The /sbin/service command
is useful for all sorts of stuff. I use it to mess with alsa all the time.
'service -s' lists all the services and their statuses, so grepping that is
quite useful.

If they work as USB drives(which I know that at least some cameras do, though
I don't know about mp3 players), then it's probably pretty simple. On my
mandrake system /dev/hda1 accesses the first usb drive, mounted by default on
/mnt/removable.

You mean the burning process didn't work (and under windows or linux?), or it
didn't work when your friend tried to boot off it (which doesn't necessarily
mean it was incorrectly burned)?
