I noticed at the top of your XF86Config-4 that it is the one generated by Debian. Debians "dexconf, the Debian X Configuration tool" which has never made a working config for me, ever. :-) There's a program called xf86config or some such, that will ask you some questions and make you a new XF86Config file. Here's what I'd do
1)rename your current file, so it doesn't get read by X.
#mv /etc/XF86Config-4 /etc/XF86Config-4.old

2) Run xf86config
#xf86config
or if that doesn't work, I think it's located in /usr/X11R6/bin

3) Try starting X again.

A good trick if you're lazy and have a Knoppix Cd, is to boot Knoppix, copy the XF86Config file it uses, and use that. :-)

Hi. I am trying to get Debian running on a Dell Latitude L100. It reports:

Fatal server error:
No screens found

I understand that this is a fairly common problem from Google. Even so, I
am uncertain of how to proceed, as all of the sites I found tend to be quite
machine-specific. I have installed X window system (apt-get install
x-window-system). No luck... I have attached the log and the config files.
How does one go about troubleshooting this? Thanks--
