Ok, I tried it... I have both Knoppix 3.4 and Knoppix STD 1.1. Both boot to
a blank green screen and just sit there... mocking me. As far as xf86config
goes, I have the same problem as at first. I had Windows XP on this before
and I exported the system information, which was helpful. The database of
available chipsets in xf86config seems limited. My laptop has the Intel
82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics Controller. The database only knows about i810
and i710 chipsets. Any other ideas? If the Knoppix CD could somehow be
made to work, that seems like it should be a viable option.

Thanks much--

Andrew
