I had understood that the common way of setting up a subdomain, if it's
hosted on the same server, is to set up a CNAME record pointing to the IP
address of the server. Then, in httpd.conf, a virtualhost is set up
pointing to the directory of the site. Is that not the usual way?

The DNS part appears to be correct. When I go to unixbooks.froghunters.org,
I get the same page as www.froghunters.org. I don't get the forum as I
thought I would. So, it seems that the problem is in httpd.conf. The
portion relating to this subdomain now reads:

<VirtualHost 207.57.2.91:80>
        ServerName unixforum.froghunters.org:80
        ServerAlias *.unixforum.froghunters.org
        DocumentRoot /www/htdocs/phpbb2/phpbb2_1/phpBB2/
</VirtualHost>

So, that clearly doesn't work, but any ideas what's wrong?

Andrew
