Serbs in Kosovo Terrorized

Gracanica. KFOR and UN Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) representatives arrested
four Kosovo Serbs in Gracanica yesterday, who are suspected of participating
in the murder of Albanians in Slovine village nearby Lipljan in April 1999,
the Serbian newspaper Politika reads today.

The three people arrested are Ljubisa Peric and three brothers - Milovan,
Slobodan and Jivorad Maksimovic.

The Serbian representatives in Kosovo opposed the arrest. Marko Todorovic,
coordinator to Pristina municipality in Gracanica condemned the action of
the International forces and defined it as an act of terror.

"The latest terror of UNMIK and KFOR reminded a lot like a well-thought out
terrorist attack. It is obvious that the International forces have
coordinated their plans with the Albanians so that they can threaten even
more and eventually drive the helpless Serbians away. The people are scared
and worried. They do not know the exact motive of the arrest of the four
Serbians", Todorovic commented.

Rada Traikovic, a member of the Serbian National Council for Central Kosovo
stated that KFOR constantly try to demonstrate power over the Serbian
population.

"Yesterday’s event again attempted to spread fear among the Serbians who are
left in the region. I call upon the International community for ceasing the
terror and I ask of Belgrade to help its Serbian people", Rada Trakovic
said.
