13 captives in Mountain Storm operation put under
police custody


-The weapons seized in the operation included three
mortars along with 111 grenades, two recoilless
cannons with 40 grenades, a Fagot electronically
guided anti-tank missile system, four anti-aircraft
missile launchers, four Strela anti-aircraft missile
systems, nine Zolja rocket-propelled grenade
launchers, two Osa grenade launchers along with seven
missiles, six rocket-propelled grenade launchers (RPG)
along with 132 grenades, one 40mm hand-held grenade
launcher MGL-6, hand grenades F1 (58 pieces), 61 land
mines, anti-tank mines (29 pieces), four sniper
rifles, nine machine guns, 31 [unclear] charges, two
packages containing plastic explosives, and other
weapons.


Skopje - The thirteen men captured in the police
operation codenamed Mountain Storm were put under
police custody, the Interior Ministry announced, which
presented the weapons seized in the village of Brodec.

All detainees will face trial under charges of
terrorism, association for hostile actions and
unlawful manufacturing, keeping and trading of weapons
and other explosive materials. 

Most of the detainees are from the village of Brodec,
except one from Tetovo and one from the village of
Mala Recica.

The police also revealed the identities of the four
fugitives - Lirim Jakupi-Nazi from Serbia, Metin
Islami-Talibani, one Albanian and one Kosovar citizen.

The Interior Ministry launched the sweeping operation
after receiving information that a criminal-extremist
group formed jointly by Ramadan Shiti - who was killed
in the operation - and the fugitives, was stationed in
the stretch of Sara Mountain encompassing the villages
of Brodec, Sipkovica and Vesala. a total of six
members of the group were killed.
