EU has no legal ground to send mission to Kosovo -
Russian Foreign Ministry
MOSCOW - Moscow sees the decision by the European
Union to send its mission to Kosovo as part of the
scenario of unilateral declaration of the independence
of the province as illegal, Russian Foreign Ministry's
Special Representative for the Balkans Alexander
Botsan-Kharchenko told Interfax on Wednesday.
"The EU is now finalizing the decision to send its
mission to Kosovo. We see this as part of the measures
aimed at implementing the scenario of unilateral
declaration of the independence of Kosovo, which will
certainly have the worst possible consequences for the
international community," Botsan-Kharchenko said.
"The decision to send such a mission is taken without
the UN Security Council and will have no legal
ground," the diplomat said.
