Serbia going through a great post-election battle over the formation the new

cabinet, and as things currently are, Slobodan Milosevic's Socialist Party
of Serbia (SPS) is closer to the Serbian Radical Party (SRS).

SPS-DS coalition not promising?

- In this moment I can say that the SPS is closer to the radicals, as they
are closer by programme and the policy they lead - said the vice-president
of New Serbia, Dubravka Filipovski, adding that Serbia today is divided
between Europe and patriotism.

Tadic's list "For a European Serbia" and Nikolic's radicals are leading a
great battle for coalition partners, and negotiations are being held behind
closed doors. The same thing that recently happened in Croatia. Therefore,
analysts and neutral observers are worked that it might take a long time for
the new cabinet to be put together, and that, when it is formed, it might be
unstable.

- The most important thing for Serbia is to form the new cabinet, in order
to begin with urgent reforms and push economical development as soon as
possible. I believe that whatever cabinet will be stable because everyone
aims at approaching Europe - Filipovski said.

Negotiations and trading are being held in full speed

Although speculations of a SPS-DS coalition have appeared, everyone denies
them because meetings are only about to start, and the truth will be known
by the end of May.

- I can not tell you anything, meetings will start at 11 a.m., and you will
know everything in time - said the spokesman of the Democratic Party of
Serbia, Andreja Mladenovic.

However, whatever the answer will be, the President of New Serbia (NS),
Velimir Ilic is a bit skeptic due to the strong promises which he considers
not realistic.

- We must work, the people asks a lot. So, I would like to see what those
who promised towers and cities will do - said Ilic for e-novine, adding that
he expected a better result than 30 seats he gained in coalition with
Kostunica's DSS.

'If the promises were truthful I would vote for the DS myself!'

However, Ilic made it clear that there will be no agreement if the DSS
decides to approach anyone but the radicals.

- No agreement with the LDP must be taken in consideration, I am no such
person who would negotiate with them. Either with the radicals, or with the
opposition! I was in the opposition for a long time. Good heavens. Maybe I
am a bit over strung, but it is not terrible to be in the opposition.

Ilic joked about Tadic's list, stating that, if he believed his promises, he
would vote for them himself.

- The list "For a European Serbia" gave promises like "200 thousand new
working places", promises over some Mercedes, millions, billions, the
European Union. If that were true I would vote for them myself - Ilic
concluded.
