Karadzic lawyer says he will not enter plea

BELGRADE, Serbia-Radovan Karadzic's lawyer says his client will not
enter a plea when he appears for the first time before the U.N. war
crimes court.
Sveta Vujacic says that the former Bosnian Serb warlord will ask the
court in The Hague, Netherlands, for a 30-day period to prepare his
defense.
Vujacic also acknowledged he never filed an appeal against Karadzic's
extradition from Serbia to the Hague tribunal. He says dayslong
uncertainty over the appeal helped stall Karadzic's handover.
Vujacic spoke on Wednesday, just hours after Karadzic was extradited
to the U.N. war crimes court to face a trial for genocide.
