Was the printer turned on and not printing during the time when you configured it?
And is the parallel port in EPP, ECP, or "bidirectional" mode (BIOS setup)? Otherwise
the auto-detection does not work.

So on a real HP DeskJet 850C the driver works ...

... on the OfficeJet 1150C not?

To have a driver alternative, you can choose the entry for the HP DeskJet 850C and
choose the GIMP-Print driver (The driver is the recommended one for the DJ 850C and
therefore in the recommended mode it is chosen automatically), this driver should work
for both the DJ 850C and the OJ 1150C.

Try using HPOJ as I have told in an earlier posting on the Cooker.

Tell me the results whether something of that works.

Enter the commands:

   ifconfig
   ps auxwww | grep cupsd
   chkconfig --list cups
   route
   hostname

and send me the output.

Send me also your

   /etc/cups/cupsd.conf
   /etc/cups/printers.conf
   /etc/cups/client.conf
   /etc/cups/ppd/*.ppd
   /etc/sysconfig/network
   /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/draknet_conf

files and tell me which security mode you have chosen and whether a firewall is
installed on your machine.

cups-drivers is not responsible for that any more, the PPD files for the non-PostScript
printers are in foomatic now and the drivers themselves in ghostscript.

    Till
