I have basically the same setup (iMac 333, OS 9, NCU), and I have no 
problem with the Belkin. I do remember having to set up the Belkin 
driver, and then tell NCU to use the USB to Serial adapter. It's been a 
while, so I don't remember exactly what was involved. But I remember 
that it had me a bit confused at first too. Of course if your iMac is a 
newer G4, that may be a different story! However, I did have to buy a 
Keyspan to use with my B&W, running OS X and connecting with NewTen.
